kali kulture: board shop

This studio project was designed to create a retail space for consumers in Los Angeles located 5125 Western Ave. It is a one stop snowboarding and skateboarding retail area. It contains everything from clothing, gear, and equipment needed by consumers to be able to surf, skate, or snowboard. It also provides a space for consumers to hang out and practice their art.

The space aims to celebrate the rich skating and snowboarding culture that inhibits the richness of California. The shop not only offers retail to the consumer but also allows one to practice both skateboarding and snowboarding. To do so, Kali Kulture: Board Shop offers a stimulator experience where you can test out the boards that are up for sale. Understanding that the closest slopes near Los Angeles are hours away, the space provides consumers with a tool to help enthusiasts prep for the next season, or for beginners to establish technique and confidence before they are ready to hit the slopes in Big Bear, Mammoth, and etc. The space also has an indoor skate park.
