The concept and basis of the Urban Wellness Center is to provide the people of Downtown, Los Angeles an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As urban life can be taxing, both on one's mental and physical health, the center seeks out to heal those in need of a sanctuary with the integration of its design and amenities. The project reimagines the use and design of the historic Douglas Building in Downtown L.A., which is currently utilized as an apartment loft complex.

The Center offers a variety of amenities such as reiki, acupuncture, massage therapy, spa pool, and yoga training. Aside from studio classes offered at the Wellness Center, there is also a yoga auditorium. As the popularity of yoga grows more and more throughout the western world, a lot of prominent yogi instructors are holding mass events to teach their practice. Whats unique about the Center is its ability to have a massive practice area to hold such events.
